Abstract

Creating Shared Value (CSV) links social value creation with business activity. This study examines three initiatives within PT XYZ Group the MSME Empowerment, Farmer Empowerment, and Cage-Free Egg Programs to determine how the are integrated into core business activities, what documented outcomes and perceived contribution they have in relation to business sustainability, how legal governance supports implementation, and the extent to which they have been institutionalized.
The research adopts a qualitative embedded single-case study, with PT XYZ Group as the case and the three programs as embedded units of analysis. Evidence was drawn from semi-structured interview with six informants covering the three embedded program units, the 2024 Annual Report, internal governance materials made available for the study, and relevant literature and standards. The data were coded thematically, compared through pattern matching, and triangulated by source and method. Institutionalization was assessed using a three-level rubric (ad hoc, developing, and embedded) across strategic integration, recurring implementation, governance formalization, monitoring, and performance measurement.
The findings show documented commercial relevance for the MSME program and documented cost saving for the farmer program. Other claimed benefits including loyalty, reputation, supply continuity, and quality are principally perceived contributions reported by informants unless corrobated by documentary indicators. Legal governance functions mainly as a supporting mechanism through contracts, compliance, risk management, and accountability rather than as the operational owner. MSME empowerment and Farmer Empowerment are assessed as developing, where as Cage-Free remains ad hoc at the pilot stage. None of the programs is assessed as embedded because formal program-specific metrics and consistenly documented governance mechanism remain incomplete.
