Abstract
PT Maritime Crew Services Internasional (hereinafter referred to as MCSI), is an Indonesia based manning and crewing services provider. The company is operated in providing crewing management services and training crew, most of the current business of MCSI is serving to the ship own by holding company PT Humpuss Intermoda Transport (hereinafter referred to as HITS). HITS as Holding company owned two big subsidiary of shipping companies, they are PT Humpuss Transportasi Kimia (hereinafter referred as HTK) and PT Humpuss Transportasi curah (hereinafter referred as HTC). HTC has 18 tug boats and 15 barges while HTK has 11 vessels. Besides providing crewing management services and training crew to HTK and HTC, PT MCSI also has business partnership with other shipping companies, the company which is not part of the HITS subsidiaries. MCSI has demonstrated good performance as crewing and a service company, it has proven through client feedback on the customer satisfaction survey. Embracing the future of business growth, MCSI has envisioned by holding company HITS to play a key role as: a. Brand Image builder for the whole group companies b. Market Network c. Business information/intelligence The group final project (the GFP) assessed MCSI linking strategic direction and business transformation to HITS by qualitatively measuring the alignment of seven strategic elements, as stated by McKinsey 7S Framework (McKinsey, 1982). To enable Analysis on the most priorities element of Mckinsey 7S Framework, the GFP grasps the key 4S for MCSI and HITS to support each other to grow. The method of analysis used is qualitative approach through data collection, data analysis and discussion study activities with MCSI and HITS. In order to achieve linkage business strategy and direction, the GFP analysis concludes that MCSI may focus to establish key performance indicators (KPI) to align key roles of MCSI and using Project management tool to manage non regular operation.
