Abstract

Inclusive education is an important yet still largely unknown education system which implements methods and curriculums that cater to all students regardless of challenges or disabilities they have. In Indonesia, the establishment of inclusive schools was pushed forward during the early 2000's, when a global inclination towards adopting and implementing this education system surged. Until today, however, only a small percentage of children with special needs are able to acquire education that can cater to them, either specifically or inclusively. This is primarily due to the limited amount of inclusive schools that are present, and the majority of the already small quantity is located in big cities in Indonesia. The existing inclusive schools in Indonesia require support so that they will be able to grow and be well-known to the general public, raising awareness not only to the benefits and importance of inclusive education but also to shed light on the disabled communities in Indonesia, and how we as a society could and should become one which can realize equal opportunities for all of its members. Through teaching creative and entrepreneurship concepts along with fundraising activities, this community involvement project is expected to help promote said efforts; effecting benefits to the community of students at Sekolah Aluna Inklusi Montessori, to the school itself, as well as to the people outside of the community.
