Abstract

Analysis of ABB's (Asea Brown Boveri) endeavors to attain carbon neutrality in its smart electric vehicle (EV) products and the correlation between this and the enhancement of its competitiveness. To thoroughly assess ABB's strategies concerning global sustainability trends and competitive market dynamics, the study utilizes TOWS (Threats, Opportunities, Weaknesses, Strengths), PESTLE (Political, Economic, Social, Technological, Legal, and Environmental), and competitive advantage frameworks. A review of TOWS reveals ABB's internal strengths, such as its dominant position in automation and electrification, as well as external prospects, such as legislative incentives and increasing consumer demand for environmentally friendly technology. Concurrently, it tackles possible risks, such as increasing rivalry in the electric vehicle industry and vulnerabilities in the sustainability of product supply chains. ABB's operations are evaluated using the PESTLE framework, which considers macro-environmental criteria such as changing government legislation, economic demands for sustainable innovations, and progress in clean energy technology. Moreover, the article examines how ABB's emphasis on achieving zero carbon emissions enhances its competitive edge by distinguishing its intelligent electric vehicle solutions through environmental accountability, adherence to regulations, and long-term financial benefits. ABB's commitment to incorporating renewable energy sources, energy-efficient designs, and ecofriendly materials not only establishes its dominance in the market but also conforms to worldwide sustainability objectives. This comprehensive research highlights that attaining zero carbon emissions is not only an ecological imperative but also a strategic tool for ABB to improve its market position, promote innovation, and maintain a competitive edge in the changing electric vehicle (EV) industry. The results provide a valuable understanding of how product development guided by sustainability can be an effective strategy for attaining successful business outcomes in a swiftly evolving sector. Keywords: Zero carbon emission, Smart EV Products, sustainability, TOWS, PESTLE, Competitive advantage
