Abstract

Career development is the possibility where an employee can be promoted based on the qualifications on their abilities and some specific requirements from the company. This, job satisfaction can be achieved and encourage employees to improve their achievements and develop their abilities. a quantitative descriptive study was taken to learn more about employee career development in a private company in Jakarta. The primary purpose of the study was to identify the work experience, job performance, company policy, educational background, and training that were perceived to have contributed most significantly to employee career development, and to determine what variables are most influence towards development. This research uses multiple regression models and probability sampling with stratified random sampling. The samples of this study are 112 employees of PT. Steelforce Indonesia and additional information such as demographic information was collected to support this research that consists of gender, educational background, current job level, and length of work. The results of this research are job performance and educational background significantly influence employee career development at PT. Steelforce Indonesia. The company business sector in this research is export and import industry, and hopefully this research could be useful for a human resource management at the company and future researcher.
