Abstract

In todays’ era of globalization and competition, coping up with the tehnological advancement, which is undergoing evolution at a rapid rate, holds the major key to the survival and growth of the company. Having a decision to install new technology, going for a modification in the existing one are one of some ways to attain the performance effeciency and enchance the value-addition. However, companies often faced by difficulties due to decision’ alternatives that the company have. In intention to obtain more desireable or profitable decision, company need to measure and evaluate the alternatives. Therefore, the use of Capital Budgeting method is inevitable. This book explains the financial assessment of capital budgeting projects. The scope extends from developing basic concepts, principles and techniques to their application in increasingly complex and real-world situations. Identification and estimation including estimation of cash flow, project appraisal formula and application of net present value (NPV), internal rate of return (IRR) and other project evaluation criteria are broadly covered by the use of discount rates adjusted for risk, certainty equivalents, sensitivity analysis, and simulation. The book is primarily designed for two catagories of readers- students and practioners. The book will also prove valuable references to corporate policy makers, to excecutives who has a say in the selection of projects and development of the firms’ capital budget; and manager who are concerned with implementing as well as reviewing projects.
