Abstract

Indonesia has exceptional growth in small medium business enterprises category. Most of them specialize in technology industry but also few of them specialize in manufacturing industry such as fashion. However, not all of them become successful and become sustainable business. They failed to get out from start-up phase. The lack of basic business knowledge or quality education among them are the reasons why they failed. In effort to prevent further to happen, the government and non-government organization (NGO) have been working to give an appropriate solution that can develop their business knowledge and business skills. Yayasan Cinta Anak Bangsa or YCAB is one of known NGO in Indonesia that concern about the quality education for unfortunate teenager. With one clear mission, YCAB aims to vitalize underprivileged youth to become self reliant through economic empowerment and education. In order to achieve the goals, YCAB have several branches in category of informal school. The branches consist of Rumah Belajar, Rumah Jahit and Mobil Belajar. In this opportunity, the Community Involvement Project (CIP) is emphasizing on a group of students from Rumah Jahit. The name of the group is TACHI. This group consist of four young women, with excellent sewing skills, creative and potentially become a good entrepreneur. However, the group also have a challenge in the business. They don’t have a business knowledge which eventually affect their business process. This project is solely dedicated to assist TACHI group improve their business within the five-basic knowledge in business, which consist of accounting, management entrepreneurship, marketing and operation management. This project is completed by conducting a business coaching for TACHI’s. The CIP has ended successfully with interactive training and workshop. With a result improvement in business, TACHI’s currently able to manage their business properly. Hopefully, in the future, there will be more NGO that help the unfortunate youth generation of Indonesia like YCAB does and there will be more volunteer who’s willing to help NGO in achieving their goals.
