Abstract
PT. Pharos Indonesia is a rapidly growing pharmaceutical company in Indonesia. PT. Pharos Indonesia is currently facing difficulties in fulfilling the demand from its customer. The management has tried to respond to the problem by building new plant. However, the management actually has not known the actual capacity of the old plant. Findings from 30 sample batch of Polysilane tablet from manufacturing information system developed by PT Pharos Indonesia, shows that the actual lead time is far exceed the targeted lead time. Lead time that supposedly only 5.09 days, became 15.53 days. The swelling of this lead time was resulted from inefficient process from various pending reasons and due to conflict of manufacturing priorities with other product. Pending reason with the highest total time is "Ganti User" (change user) while pending reason that frequently occurs is "Antri Mesin" (machine queue). The 7.81 days delay was due to conflict of manufacturing priorities from priority system that developed by PT Pharos Indonesia. Until today, PT Pharos has not been able to identify the cause of high lead time and delay because there is no review and monitoring system to lead time as the main KPI of Manufacturing Division. By conducting periodical review and monitoring process, and by making each department required to analyze and conduct improvement of their lead time, expected lead time targets can be achieved and the delay can be reduced.
