Abstract

This thesis provides an evaluation of the production process efficiency and analyzes several wastes in CV Arya Duta. Currently, CV Arya Duta has problem in efficiency of its production process. Based on observation several problems that are identified: Overstock of raw materials in storage, un-interconnected process as well as machine placement, no value added motion of goods and employee, bottleneck, Excess workers in several machines. Analysis that has been conducted is shown in Fishbone Diagram along with Pareto Analysis. This condition brings them into uncompetitive printing market and influence profitability unless some improvement are planned to be done. Therefore, this research has been done to found out and analyze the root problem that makes the in- efficiency, continuing with conclusions and recommendations To find and analyze the problem, data are collected from CV Arya Duta by interviewing several workers associated with the production process and searching literature review from journals, books and articles relnted to production process then conclude in some recommendations. Some of the analyses are as follows: 1. Measure existing process layout in correlated with business process overall are efficient or not. 2. Measure total of workers needed for production; impacted to cost of production. 3. Measure motion of goods and employees are value added or not. 4. Measure capacity and quality of machine. 5. Measure raw material needed for production. 6. Measure balance of work of each area (process production). The recommendations are focused on improving the production overall by improve the process layout, relocate the machines, improve in arrange total of workers, control the inventory of raw material (paper), and also eliminates several waste in CV Arya Duta Based on improvement and elimination of waste in CV Arya Duta, it will result in whether or not CV Arya Duta is able to conduct its production process in an efficient manner to provide the basic foundation of continuous improvement.
