Abstract

The growth of Indonesia's population, followed by increments of economic growth and technological progress, has made Indonesia into the target market, especially for the world of telecommunications service providers. In order to meet the demand for the availability of telecommunications, telecommunications service providers competing to provide the best service. It requires an advanced telecommunications infrastructure and reliable results in the growth of telecommunication towers in large numbers. The development of technology requires more towers available, denser and closer to the customer. This is due to migration of mobile telecommunications generation from 2G to 3G, and this time from 3G to 4G. Provision of telecommunications infrastructure as needed provide better services, increased capacity, quality of service and wider coverage. From the conditions mentioned above, the mobile operators need more telecommunication towers from year to year. But in fact the addition of telecommunication towers are not going well because it is hampered by several problems. Among these problems are the difficulty of getting permission to do construction of telecommunication towers, increasing land rental prices radically, and the difficulty of getting land in the crowded center of the target construction of telecommunication towers. From the needs and the existing problems, so the best solution is to utilization pole/tower of electricity as telecommunication tower infrastructure. In this case, ICON+ as a subsidiary of PT. PLN, has exclusive rights in the asset management Right of Way (RoW) PLN, and also has a fiber optic network that is integrated with a pole/tower and scattered throughout the regions of Indonesia. We see that the ICON+ has a greater potential to grow the business over the utilization telecommunication tower pole/tower is because over the long-term strategic plan ICON+. Together with ICON+ Tower Business Development team, we participate in reviewing the business, operations and financial business development potential tower over which we call the LCT (Low Cost Tower) with the use of TM/TR PLN. We conduct a study using a business plan approach which is equipped by strategic marketing theory developed by Hermawan Kertajaya whose content includes Business Review (4C Analysis), Strategic Decision (TOWS Analysis), STP and 4Ps. Then we continue with an operational review that explores issues of organizational structure and business processes. And we end with a feasibility study financial analysis as a consideration of whether the business is feasible or not. Based on the results of the study that we have made, we are optimistic that this will be a business LCT new business diversification ICON+ because it has a very strong position competitive conditions and readily accepted by the market especially among mobile operators. Coupled with the existing fiber optic services, LCT is expected to create synergy (2 + 2 = 7) that the two businesses together can make more profit than if you do it on their own (product bundling). In this GFP, we conclude that the LCT is very feasible business to be run by ICON+ as indicated by the financial parameters as follows: IRR = 63.8%, NPV = 2.475T IDR (at discount factor 20%), payback period within 4 (four) years, and profitability index 13.72. The results of these calculations we obtain from projected sales of 16,494 tenants for 15 years (including construction period of the first 5 years) which requires an investment of 1.979T IDR which includes the initial investment of 195B IDR.
