Abstract

PT Gagas Energi Indonesia (Gagas) is one of PGN's subsidiaries that established with aims to strengthen the core business and provides added value to PGN's business by providing product differentiation for customers. The main purpose ideas are consist of planning, procurement, establishment and development of gas transportation modes including but not limited to providing Compressed Natural Gas (CNG). CNG itself is produced through Natural Gas Station (SPBG) that Gagas now faces problems to deal with it. Slowing business development or even negative growth requires the management of ideas to prepare alternative corporate strategies to be able to compete with current transportation fuel that used oil. The current utilization of SPBG is still below 16% of the installed capacity. The purpose of the study is to identify and formulate alternative corporate strategies with regard to internal and external environmental factors and turming natural gas stations into profitable business. The methods used in the study are using IFE Matrix, EFE Matrix, IE Matrix, SWOT Matrix, and Quantitative Strategic Planning Matrix (QSPM). Based on the results of the analysis, the proposed solution for the general strategy theme for The idea is to hold and maintain their current position by doing several corporate actions such as proposed incentives to government in order to get equal treatment with other alternative fuels, collaborate with gasoline station (SPBU) to develop new SPBG, increasing their marketing campaigns, doing partnerships with others CNG player in educating customer regarding the safety aspect of using CNG as vehicle fuel, proposed competitive gas price, and grab new target customer possibility.
