Abstract

Recently, the Indonesian government is steadily pursuing mergers and acquisitions of Indonesian banks and foreign banks. It is because the Indonesian government wants to restructure its banking business through a foreign bank that appreciates the potential of the Indonesian banking industry. Korea's IBK has also entered into an early stage of preparation for the Indonesian business in early 2010 and plans to complete the merger and acquisition with two local banks in 2019 and start operations. The researcher believes that IBK should have a fully localized operation in order to make IBK a fast success in Indonesia. In this regard, we will investigate the IBK's localization strategy through qualitative research methods such as interview and survey and with tools such as SWOT and BCG analysis.
