Abstract
Lean Management is a concept of systematic approach to eliminating the sources of loss from entire value streams in order to gain performance that meet customers' and shareholders' demand. This concept is widely applied in manufacturing company, as a set of tools that assist in identifying and steady elimination of waste that can improve quality while production time and cost According to John Drew, Blair McCallum, and Stefan Roggenhofer (from their book : Journey to lean: making operational change are reduced. stick), to develop an effective change platform, companies need to tackle three aspects of an organization simultaneously: the operating system or technical capabilities, the management infrastructure, the mindsets and behaviors of the staff. The platform is well-known as Operational Excellence Framework. Operating System or Technical Capabilities is the way in which assets, resources and people are managed in order to create value and flow it to the Management Infrastructure is Management processes, customer. capability-building mechanisms and organization structure that need to be closely aligned with the operating system so that lean ways of working become standard practice. The entire management infrastructure must be designed to complement and sustain the operating system so as to achieve a high level of performance and foster an ethic of continuous improvement. Mindsets and behaviors is the way people think about what they do, their attitudes towards their work, their aspirations and goals, and the effect these factors have on their actions need to be consistent with lean principles. The organization should engage people's hearts and minds: to ensure that staff at every level of the organization understand the reason for change, know where it is heading, and commit themselves to working to get there.
