Abstract

Digital transformation is widely acknowledged as a driver of operational efficiency and financial performance in the energy sector. PT PLN (Persero), Indonesia's state owned power provider, bears an increasing of account receivables for more than 15% in 2016 to 2019. This study used a quantitative exploratory methodology to examine quarterly financial statements from Q2 2016 to Q2 2025, assessing the company’s financial performance before and after the implementation of the PLN Mobile application on December 20, 2020. The financial performance will be evaluated across five principal dimensions: profitability, liquidity, activity, solvency, and financial health. The method used the Shapiro-Wilk test to verify if the data is normal, then it uses Paired Sample t-tests for parametric data and Wilcoxon Signed-Rank tests for non-parametric data. The Altman Z-Score is used to measure financial health. The finding shows that PLN Mobile made a big difference in profitability (Return on Equity and Return on Investment), liquidity (Current and Cash Ratios), activity (Account Receivables, Asset and Inventory Turnover), solvency (Total Equity to Total Assets), and financial health (Altman Z Score). Dupont Analysis clarifies that the Net Profit Margin had a big effect of more than three times after the implementation of PLN Mobile. The research finds that Digital Application has made PLN successfully become a more data-driven and operationally excellent organization.
