Abstract

This project concrme with QB Worldbooks, particularly in QB Pondok Indah branch. After Initial Investigation by interview, it was found that QB Pondok Indah has the lowest sales performance compared to other branches. To get the aspects to be measured, an in depth interview was conducted on 10 respondent. They were asked on what aspects that they think are important for an imported bookstore. Based on those mentioned aspects. a survey on influencing factors based on customer perception is conducted. The interview itself was conducted in two areas. Thamrin and Pondok Indah area to compare between the lowest performer (Pondok Indah) and the highest performer (Thamrin). The survey was conducted to 64 respondents, 32 respondents for each area. Respondents were also asked on their opinion on QB and competitors to understand the competition map further. The research also analyze on three imported bookstore's brand association and brand awareness. From the survey, it is found that QB has the highest brand awareness almost twice from competitors. Aksara and OB get more or less the same beand association (except that QB gets more favorable perception in facility (cafe) Kinokuniya is leading in creating its own perception a complete imported bookstore. No significant difference in measured aspects in the three bookstores is reported. but Aksara gets the highest customer satisfaction Aksara only excels in two aspects, staff courtesy and low price, compared to the two other competitors QR and Kinokuniya which excels in more than aspects. Overall performance according to respondents in OB Pondok Indah is also better than QB Thamrin although the sales performance in Thamrin is actually better.
