Abstract

English proficiency has become a crucial factor in determining a person's professional success in the globalized world of today. As corporations, organizations, and universities operate on a global scale, English has become the predominant language of the modern era. Therefore, English proficiency is now required for success in a variety of professions. Due to the competitive character of the job market, employers, increasingly seek English-proficient candidates, even if the position does not necessitate direct communication in the language. Effective communication in English is often viewed as an indication of intelligence, adaptability, and a desire to learn and grow. English proficiency also increase the variety of local and international employment opportunities available. Indonesia a country that located in the southeast Asia is a nation that not using English as the first language of the nation. According to the data gathered by Education first (2022), the English proficiency index (EPI) for Indonesia ranks 81st out of 111 countries, which is a low position. From this evidence, i have a willingness to contribute to upscalling the level of Indonesian EPI, my aims to increase the awareness of young generation regarding the importance of English proficiency and enrich the senior high schools students English knowledge and skills. I believe once the student proficient in English it will increase their ability to compete in this era.
