Abstract
In order to ensure that the business can survive and continue to succeed in the face of market competition that is continuing to grow in a long-term sustainable way, the business performance of the firm must be measured. To investigate the effect of the financial performance on profitability and stock performance before and during COVID-19 era in the financial e=sector in PT Elnusa, Tbk, this study employs these measurements: (1) leverage (DAR), (2) liquidity (CR), (3) Turnover (TATO), and (4) market return. Research design is descriptive quantitative and inferential. The population in this study is PT Elnusa Tbk, a company in the oil and gas sector and listed on the Indonesia stock exchange, with the code name "ELSA". The sampling technique, the researcher used purposive sampling. The number of samples examined consisted of 48 ELSA's financial reports (since 2010 since the company was listed on the IDX, until 2021 where the latest audit report in available). Using SPSS as tool analysis. The results are leverage has negative effect on profitability of ELSA, liquidity has positive effect on profitability of ELSA. Turnover has positive effect on profitabilit of ELSA, COVID-19 period has negative effect of profitability of ELSA, leverage has positive effect on stock return of ELSA, liquidity has negative effect on stock return of ELSA, Turnover has negative effect of stock return of ELSA, market return has positive effect on stock return of ELSA, profitability has negative effect on stock return of ELSA, COVID-19 period has positive effect on stock return of ELSA.
