Abstract

Over four decades in service, Bank Niaga is known as a sound financial institution that has built its business since 1955 on a foundation of trust, respectability and quality. Over the years, the bank has expanded its network to 62 branches (offices) throughout the Indonesian archipelago, overseas offices in Hong Kong, Los Angeles and the grand Cayman Islands. In meeting the rapidly growing and diverse needs of its customer, Bank niaga provides a wide array of financial services including corporate finance, consumer finance, investment, trade finance, advisory, custody, corporate trust, life insurance, securities brokerage and underwriting, currency and securities trading, leasing and factoring. Currently, Bank Niaga has evolved into a position of relative leadership in the Indonesian financial service industry. The bank has been able for years to position itself as one of "the big-ten private banks" in this country. Over the years, the bank has consistently pursued a prudent course of growth through quality services, effective risk management and asset allocation, innovation use of technology and dedicated personnel. The bank views technology-based resources with increasing importance and necessity in light of competitive pressures, and has managed technology to enhance the quality and speed of service delivery, to absorb increasing transaction volumes and reduced processing costs, and to provide management with current information on the bank's financial performance and condition. The bank was the first to introduce the ATM service in Indonesia in 1987. As one of the prominent private bank, Bank Niaga is well known in business society and considered as a very innovative bank, particularly in its product offering to the middle and upper markets. Considering on various business and competitive advantage owned by bank niaga, it is a very attractive and appropriate choice to choose bank niaga as a subject of group field project.
