Abstract

COVID-19 crisis has brought severe impact to humanity, economy and also sustainability. One of the ways to solve these issues at once is the practice of green business. Higher education institutions, especially universities, have been considered as a potential pool of future qualified entrepreneurs since they offer education which mostly affect career selection of students. This study aims to determine factors which drive green entrepreneurial intention between university students in Indonesia and Malaysia during COVID-19. Through a variety of SEM-PLS analyses with SmartPLS 3, this research collected and analyzed data from 267 Indonesia and Malaysia university students and generated the following results: Both University educational support in Indonesia and Malaysia has negative impact on entrepreneurial self-efficacy, while entrepreneurial self-efficacy and social responsibility have a positive impact to green entrepreneurial intention in both countries. Meanwhile, government support in Indonesia has a negative effect on entrepreneurial self-efficacy while it positively impacts those who live in Malaysia. This study also implied that social responsibility of Indonesian students has a negative effect on entrepreneurial self-efficacy while it has a positive effect on Malaysian student's entrepreneurial self-efficacy. Moreover, the result of this study can provide significant insights especially for higher education institutions and governments in Indonesia and Malaysia to provide relevant curriculum and study programs to shape a green entrepreneurial mindset among university students.
