Abstract
Year 2020 started with a huge shock to the whole world. Covid-19 pandemic and the one of the significant events of oil price crash led by price war between Saudi Arabia and Russia created domino effect to global economic situation. Particularly hit in the direct effect, the upstream oil and gas sector around the world, reassess the programs to ensure only cost-effective projects were continued during the turbulence time. Oil service providers in Indonesia were also impacted by the whole situation. The author started the thesis by contemplating certain important variables required to overcome the crisis, namely business agility, business resilience and resource capability (particular human resource) and how those factors work in relation with the performance of the business. The study aims to investigate the relationship between those variables by collecting fifty five (55) data from the survey conducted online which later processed and analyzed using PLS-SEM. The findings show that business agility affects business resilience, resource capability, affects business agility and business resilience, and business resilience affects business performance directly and also mediates the other two (2) variables. This study can provide some guidance for future studies specifically in Indonesia upstream oil and gas industry touching on business agility and resilience concept that is being implemented by the human resource for organization.
