Abstract

This project focuses on the mining equipment and mineral processing solutions industry, which is vital to efficient mining operations. PT XYZ, a global company with a Jakarta-based focus on mineral processing, faces challenges in inventory management due to fluctuating customer demand, long procurement lead times, and low inventory turnover, leading to shortages, excess stock, and high storage costs. This project aims to provide strategic recommendations to improve inventory planning, reduce lead times, and enhance turnover efficiency. Guided by the Just In Time (JIT) theory, the research uses primary data from Focus Group Discussions and interviews, and secondary data from journals and online sources. Analytical tools such as PESTLE, SWOT, TOWS, and Gap Analysis are applied to identify key issues and strategic gaps. The project follows four phases, initiation, planning, execution, and closure, spanning from week 1 to week 10. The deliverables include optimization plan, procurement strategies, technology recommendations, and an implementation roadmap with performance metrics. PT XYZ can improve inventory management by adopting AI forecasting, streamlining procurement, and applying lean practices to boost efficiency and responsiveness. Industry players should embrace digital tools, flexible sourcing, and sustainability to stay competitive. Customers will benefit frobetter product availability, faster service, and eco-friendly options. While this project is limited in scope and lacks financial modeling and tech depth, future efforts should explore full supply chain integration, advanced systems, financial analysis, broader coverage, and sustainable strategies. Keywords: Inventory management, demand fluctuation, lead time, mining industrym
